Dear Gail,
I just had to write to you to let you know how grateful I am for how well we have all been treated for the past 10 years while my parents resided at the Bay Club. From the beginning, your employees acted as if it was more than just a job. There was a caring and concern that went above and beyond the call of duty.
My folks moved in as healthy 80-somethings with two cars and a series subscription to every art venue in Sarasota. I remember encouraging them to move in when they thought they were “far too young and not in need of a place like that.” I also remember a widow watching with tears in her eyes as they moved in congratulating them for making the move because they wanted to, not because they HAD too. They loved every minute of their new active life with less stress and responsibility and the option of having someone else do the cooking! Your staff became their friends and extended family during this time.
As my folks aged and required additional support, your staff and you were there for them, assisting them (and me) and being my eyes and ears while I was out of town. There was no greater comfort to me, living so many miles away, knowing my parents were safe and surrounded by your terrific, incredibly professional and caring staff.
Sadly, my parents’ fulfilled life at the Bay Club ended and I recently had to go through the painful process of moving their belongings out and deal with the sales of their unit. Once again, we were fortunate to work with an amazing group of professionals who made this difficult time so much easier. I am beyond grateful for their kindness, guidance and support during this time where I really needed the help.
Mom and Dad absolutely loved living in their apartment, and while the past 8 years were trying for them in many ways, I was always grateful that I could keep the quality of their lives as good as I could for as long as I could. But I did not do that alone. Thanks to you and your wonderful team, it was a partnership that provided additional love and support. Lucky, lucky them to have lived the life they did in your wonderful community. Lucky, lucky you to have the staff that makes such a big difference in peoples’ lives.
Thanks again for your great leadership, coordinating a tremendous group of professionals. Our family is forever indebted to you.
With gratitude,
Jodie Cohen Gold
